Christian persecution in India.

So, you thought Christian persecution was over? You thought Christians stopped being burned after Nero’s reign ended in Rome? Me, too.
Think again.
In India, Hindu extremists have been setting fire to thousands of homes of Christians, churches, Christian businesses, and even Christian-run orphanages. Tens of thousands of Christians have been forced from their homes, and at least 49 church leaders and members were killed or burned alive last year.
I didn’t think there was still such a strong animosity against Christians in the world; I guess I was naive. It pains me to know that this is happening in the world, and we are so safe here in America. As a Christian, I have been guilty of being somewhat angry toward our government for breaking away from the Christian foundation on which our country once sat and leaning towards so much freedom of everything.
It kind of wakes me up, though, to see such intolerance in other countries against fellow Christians. I wish they had the same freedoms, freedom to believe in Christ without being scared for their lives, that we have here in America. Funny isn’t it? I want other religions to get less freedoms than Christians get in America, but I want other countries to lean towards freedom of religion more than they do so that Christians can live in peace.
It makes me sound like a hypocrite, but let me be clear about what I’m saying.
If people of other religions were being burned alive for their beliefs in America, I would be on the front lines for religious freedoms here at home because that is in no way what Christ died for. People can’t be saved and have their lives changed when they are dead. We should keep God in the national anthem and make sure Christians run our government instead of Muslims or Buddhist, etc. Those are the freedoms I want Christians to have above other religions in our country, because that is what our nation was built upon. Burning people alive? That has no place in the world, regardless of your beliefs. I don’t expect a Christian to ever be able to hold office in India, but I wish they at least had the laws that we do to believe what you choose. I know I sound a little crazy or wishy-washy, but I am enraged that this is happening in India and wherever else it may be happening; whether it’s Christians suffering or people of other faiths.
God is the one true God. Jesus lived and died for our sins. That is the truth. That said, no one deserves to die because of their beliefs at the hands of other men. God will take care of Satan and those who do not follow Christ, and that’s where it should end.
