Yes, it seems like we’ve adopted the attitude that “If it looks good, it must be good.” Nothing could be further from the truth. God uses the simple things of the world to shame the wise. Isaiah 53 says that we are not attracted to Jesus – he chooses us unconditionally. As with King David, who was the last to be considered among his brothers when Samuel came calling, so it is with us. It reminds me of an old saying – what is popular is not always right & what is right is not always popular. If you’re not swimming against the flow, something’s wrong.
If you love God with all of your heart, soul, and mind – everything else will fall into place as it should. You will have a divine shine about you that the greatest fashion designers in the world could never dream of capturing.
I worked as a model all over the world for ten years in the high fashion industry. I don’t remember any of the clothes, but I remember the people I met who had that shine that Christians have.
So good. Good is looking for lovers, not robotic slaves.
Christians today have far surpassed the key point of Salvation through faith; if it were possible to earn our way into heaven through works, character or stature- then Christ died in vain!
